Merula offers a number of additional services to help improve your internet use. Some of the main services include email virus protection and junk email filtering.
Virus protection
Many computer viruses spread via email. Often, simply viewing a message can infect your computer, causing problems for you or your organisation. Even if anti-virus software is installed, it needs to be kept up-to-date to protect against the latest email viruses.
Merula has developed a custom service to check all email for any virus activity. Our virus software is automatically updated every few minutes so that we can catch virus messages much faster than many home anti-virus solutions helping to keep your system running smoothly.
Please note that this service should always be used in conjunction with an up-to-date anti virus product on your own computer to protect you from viruses that may come from other sources i.e floppy discs.
Junk email filtering
An increasing amount of junk email is now being sent to internet users. In many cases, this far outnumbers genuine email and wastes valuable time. Merula can either filter or block such email before it reaches you. We use the very latest lists to filter email, based upon several criteria. This solution can capture up to 95% of junk email.
There are separate versions of this service for individual and corporate use. For a single user, the system costs £40 (£47 inc. VAT) per year; corporate licenses vary, depending upon the number of users and email volume.
